What a good couple of days out of town will do for the body. R&R definitely played a part. This past weekend we took off for the gold coast of California or at least pretty close to the coast. Solvang, CA located 30 mi. south of Santa Maria (which by the way is like 70F year round, really not fair). Then again, when we went to Solvang it wasn't much different. This Danish town is located in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley and sure was beautiful. On our way there we had to stop a few times. What is a family getaway without the routine "I'm not feeling so well!". Lucky for us, this happened twice. Although once we got there, everything was better.

After playing around a little bit we decided to take a walk around the village, trying the Dutch pastries and looking around at nick nacks.

Our condo didn't have a bad location either looking out over the back of the resort and the lush, green, rolling hills.

Monday morning, after waking up and letting the girls sleep till they felt like waking up (around 9am) we got ready to head off for the falls, Nojoqui Falls to be exact. Nothing too spectacular since it hadn't rained in quite a while but pretty nonetheless.

All in all, we had a really good time.

OK, so today was a normal day. That was until I got Alexa down for bed, at which point I preceded to make my way to the front room and relax on the recliner; however my attention got drawn to another part of the house. THE GARAGE!!! Yes, we have mice in our garage. We try to be the best landlords that we can be but for whatever reason, the mice (4 of them) feel the need to be loud, ALL THE TIME!!! So tonight I decided to evict the little critters and give them a choice. They could leave or they would suffer the consequences. Unfortunately for the mice (not the best animal to be, especially in a garage) because of the language barrier, the above was a rhetorical question. After tracking the mice down to a corner of the garage, I cornered them in with boxes and slowly started moving everything out of the area. Fortunatly for him, Speedy, we shall call him, escaped my wrath and still reeks havack in the George Family Garage. Maybe he will become the new king. Although one escaped, the other 3 were not so lucky. After what seemed to be a period of 10 minutes making fun of myself while I stomped in the garage trying to end the lives of these poor helpless critters, 1 finally succomed to the agaony of the bottom of my tennis shoe. HAHAHA. This now leaves 2 mice still lurking in the midst. I tracked them down to a bag of grass seed that we had in the garage. After which, with Amy's help of keeping the bag closed for the time being, I brought the old bar-b-que grill to the front yard. (Not really sure if you can get arrested for this but nonetheless, don't try this at home.) With grill sitting on wet grass from the rain and lighter fluid in one hand and lighter in the other, I drenched the inside of the grill with natures fury. Then preceded to take the bag and throw it into the grill after which quickly closing the top. I then opened the air vent down below and you know the rest.

ALL MICE GO TO HEAVEN!!!
